Transport Improvements
The scheme will make significant investment into the transport network to help address existing issues and mitigate the impact of the development. Detailed modelling work is currently underway which will identify where improvements will be made which would then be funded by financial contributions or directly delivered by the developer.
This investment will deliver:
Upgrades to the capacity of the existing network, including key junctions
New cycle links in line with the Southend A13 Cycle Strategy
Additional footpath links to enhance accessibility and promote sustainable living
Improved bus services
The scheme will also safeguard the potential for new roads to be delivered should adjoining land come forward for development on land controlled by others.
